"Dear Baby Caroline, I'm getting ready to go back to school next week, and you're going to be taken care of by a nice lady named Marci. I know she'll take good care of you. I wish I was going to be there with you as you fall asleep, and wake up, and to see each smile and tear.....it will be hard, but it will be okay."
These are the words I wr.ote in Big Sister's journal about 6 years or so ago. She was four months old and starting with a sitter While I trusted her implicitly, I was mourning our soon-to-be-less time together, and only hoping that she would know she was loved while I was away at work.........
Fast-forward those six years to today. Here's what I would write to Little Sister:
"Dear Brinka, Daddy and Juicy and I start school again next week, and you get to go to Marci's! You are going to have SOOOO much fun and be involved in so much. Marci and Shad love you nearly as much as we do, plus her house is a lot cleaner. :-) Even though I hate hate hate to leave you, we are so blessed to have Marci in our lives, because you love her and she loves you. She is gentle and sweet and lots of fun. You will thrive on the routine that she provides each day. You're going to learn so much from her and your three friends that will be there with you. I am so excited for you!"
But I don't have to write it down.............Little Sister already has it all figured out.
Once again, you've made me cry!
